Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) is an emerging field of psychotherapy which uses interaction with horses as part of a treatment to facilitate emotional growth and learning.
The treatment encompasses a collaborative effort between a skilled and qualified therapist, a horse professional and the horse, and due to its effectiveness and intensity is classed as a brief intervention with clients.
The EQUUS programme at Churchtown Morgans is a model sponsored and produced by the Equine-Assisted Growth and Learning Association (EAGALA), the professional body for this treatment field.
Equine-assisted psychotherapy has been shown to illicit a poweful and effective theraputic effect and can have an incredible impact on individuals, families and groups.
Equus Solutions provides an EAGALA sponsored model programme of equine- assisted psychotherapy, which can be a very effective treatment in the following areas:
Addictions, Behavioural issues, Depression Anxiety, Eating disorders,
